A partial lunar eclipse will take place on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2009, the last of four lunar eclipses in 2009.
The southern edge of the moon will darken as it passes through the Earths umbral shadow. There will be a distinct visible darkening over the moons surface at the greatest point of eclipse.
Visible through most of the world excluding the north and south American continents.
The first contact will be at 18:52 GMT lasting for 1 hour through to 19:52 GMT.
